so i had an adventure today.

we were supposed to be going to the canadian rockies today. my mom, dad, and brother were to board on a United Airlines flight and my grandmother who doesn't speak english and i on an American two hours after them. so they're off to go to terminal c and we're off to go to terminal d to go to chicago, then connect to calgary.

and we go there. and wait. and wait. until they make an announcement that our plane hasn't even left chicago an hour before we're set to leave. so we wait some more. weather's apparently gonna be a bitch. and so i get in line to ask the people at the counter if there's a later flight to calgary from chicago. meanwhile, my dad's calling me saying that they're still stuck on their plane, but it's too late to re-book and all that.

when it's finally my turn in line, i find out that there's no more flights to calgary. crap. so we change it to tomorrow morning and head down to baggage claim to pick up our luggage. i call my mom's baking friend to see if we can get picked up (we can)... and after an hour, our luggage hasn't shown up. and our friend does. after some deliberation with the luggage lady, they arranged for our luggage to be taken to calgary tomorrow morning so that we dont' have to pick it up and check it in all over again. yay.

and so now we're home. my asian grandmother and i. and it's still storming out. my dad and mom and brother just called to say that they caught another flight to calgary. we'll meet tomorrow.

what a day. i'm supposed to be in canada now. fuck.

and yet i feel strangely accomplished.
